Bio

My name is Carl Pilkington.

I am an artist, researcher and teacher. With this initiative I have moved my focus from being a music teacher at a school, to being a maker, artist and teacher at my studio. I am excited to teach others new skills and facilitate their exploration with new media. I have explored different media in my making. Most recently I have been making with fibre. I like making utilitarian items from everyday materials. I explore the use of various materials to discover their potential. I am also a passionate academic researcher. My work is focussed around the meaning of the arts in marginalised communities.
